COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — There is no information if a cyclist killed Monday evening was in a crosswalk when she was hit, according to the Police. The crash is being investigated by the officials.
The deadly crash took place around 5:30 p.m. on South Nevada near the southbound I-25 on-ramp.
“It appears as though that the individual was close to the sidewalk,” said Lt. Howard Black with the Colorado Springs Police Department. “Whether she was walking her bike or driving it through the crosswalk has still been undetermined.”
Also undetermined is how fast the driver of the car was going or any other factors contributing to the crash, Black told the local news. The driver did remain on the scene afterward and was cooperating with the investigation.
“Obviously, at that time of day, we have numerous witnesses. Those individuals are being interviewed,” Black said.
Nothing is released from the names of the victim and the driver.
